IOGEAR’s Wireless 3D Media Kit

January 10th, 2011

Once again our friend Robert Silva from About.com has come through with some great footage from CES. This is from the IOGEAR booth. Here we wee IOGEAR’s Wireless 3D Media Kit in action. This will stream Blu-ray and 3D content wirelessly to your HDTV. This is due out in August which, according to the rep, is three months ahead of the competition. Or about three years before you get around to buying a 3D TV. Thanks again Robert for the scoop. Click into the post to see the video plus a list of Robert’s impressions from the show.

What Robert Saw at CES 2011:

1. Lots and Lots of 3D – including add-on accessories, such as the IOGEAR 3D over Wireless HDMI and several manufacturers hawking external 2D to 3D conversion boxes.

2. Lots of Internet TV – includng 3D over Vudu.

3. Dolby showed off a Nokia cell phone with HDMI output that also includes 720p video playback AND Dolby Digital Plus bitstream output.

4. THX, SRS, and DTS all coming out with new surround sound solutions. THX and SRS still in prototype stage with new approaches to surround sound – while DTS had a demo of its new Neo: X 11.1 channel surround sound format.
