AVRant #40: Presents, MPAA, and Receivers

February 7th, 2008

Clint DeBoer (Editor-in-Chief of Audioholics) is filling in for Dina this week. Clint and Tom run through a short list of possible Valentine’s gifts for your favorite geek. Sorry ladies, without Dina around, we can’t really help your geek pick out something for you. Maybe next year. What have we noticed about questions about, “My friend thinks… but I think…”? Your “friend” is most likely wrong. If a 720p native projector accepts a 1080p signal, are you getting a 1080p picture? What is DisplayPort? Tom and Clint fill you in. Are we going to offer two AVRants in the near future? Yes… maybe! Look for one on every Tuesday Tom can get either Clint or J to sit down with him. What’s the deal with the MPAA hating college students? Nothing – they just wanted to pressure the colleges. Want to know about surround bars? Clint and Tom weigh in. Tips about hooking up your receiver. Radio Shack is the emergency store. Tom and Clint hint at a super secret Audioholics project. What is it? Who knows. Thanks for listening.

Thank you Clint, for stating the obvious in the first minute of the podcast, and for coming to the defense of my wife!
