How sad our journalistic culture is these days. My favorite (i.e.- the most sickening) part of the news story attached to the headline above was this gem:

Police said there were “no findings to suggest anyone famous was involved”.

Apple called and offered iPhones for the AVRant.com guys, so I gladly accepted but told them that Tom and Clint were not fans of Steve Jobs and Apple. I guess it will be me up to me to test and report on the little device..

I am blogging to you live from Shanghai, yes THAT Shanghai, the one in China. Walking back to my hotel from dinner tonight I passed the street vendor selling DVD’s. I figured that I would do a little field work for Audioholics and AV Rant and take a look. Any movie you could think of, old and new, was available. Saw my first DLP cinema projector last night – okay, I didn’t see the projector, but saw the movie being shown on a DLP. Holy cow!!! Saw Oceans 13 at the Westwood Village theater, and I could not believe the clarity. Of course as always, the sound at the Village was stunning. Probably the only theater I have been to in the past 10 years that sounded better than my room…
