Netflix 2.0 on Xbox LIVE

August 10th, 2009 4 comments

Netflix seems to be updating its interface on the new Xbox LIVE update coming tomorrow. Why I think this is significant is that it finally adds the ability to browse titles and add them to your queue sans PC… Currently, you have to leave the Xbox 360, pull up your desktop/laptop and add new titles to your queue. The Netflix interface on all current BD players, televisions and the Xbox 360 only allow you to watch the current queue. Read more…

Audioholics 3.0 Beta Testers Wanted

July 24th, 2009 13 comments

audioholics20website2We want your feedback!

The NEW Audioholics 3.0 website is deploying at the end of the month. We don’t want to link it up directly, but users can get a sneak peek at http://beta.audioholics.com:90

We’re interested in bug reports, not feature requests. Please post your bugs here.

Hint: If your post begins withлаптоп “It would be really cool if…” then we will probably delete or ignore the post. We’ll have plenty of time for feature requests later – for now, however, please focus on letting us know if anything actually breaks.

Keep in mind that the system may be a tad slow as it’s being worked on and is not on the final hardware where it will reside.

We look forward to your feedback. Thanks and enjoy the sneak peek!

You can tell the competency of the PR company by how soon they begin sending product info and inquiring about booth appointments of those going to the show. The good companies (there are only a few of these) prep early and dribble email-based news and phone calls weeks before the show.

The companies staffed with morons who wouldn’t know how to promote a pile of poo to a fly colony, start calling and emailing about 7 days before the event.

This happens every year. Like clockwork. Read more…

TechCast #2: Interview with Genesis Guitarist Daryl Stuermer

August 1st, 2008 3 comments

Gene interviews Genesis “permanent part time member” Daryl Stuermer who has played lead guitar for the band on live performances for over 30 years. Daryl discusses how it was getting back together with the boys after a nearly 15 year sabbatical. Gene grills Genesis on their not-so-enthusiastic performance at VH-1 Rock Honors and the selection of boy band Keane doing a tribute song, but later hails their 2007 tour performance. Daryl discusses Phil Collins’ unique signature sound both in vocals and behind the drum kit while Gene wishes he could play drums like Phil. The 2007 Europe/USA tour was a smashing success, so much so that fans were demanding more shows at the end while Daryl was also ready to keep going. Will they tour again soon? What about a new CD? Listen to the podcast to find out… Read more…
