AVRant #97: Year Stupid 01

October 9th, 2008

Coke Crappy. Dina gets homework. Life, Sanctuary, Pushing Daisies, Driven (not Drive), and Heroes. Ebay helps the little guy (into debt). Best Buy tries to get chicks. Dina admits she’s not normal. Jaime called… a lot. He’s shopping for speakers and that gets Tom talking. Tom requests a picture. Lots of tips for speaker shopping. Why Tom level matches speakers the way he does. Tom’s super power. Mark has some pics for you from his Barn project (see links below). A short discussion of IB (Infinite Baffle) subs. A bit about the DECE and why it might be a great thing. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to vote for us at Podcast Alley.

Rock on Dina!

Coke Zero. All I can say is…why? What the heck is the need? They’ve already got Diet Coke and Coke Zero tastes like you’re drinking RC Cola through a wad of sweat-soaked cotton. Oh well, at least it’s no worse than Lemon Coke aka. Coke Lysol.

Anyways…I’m so glad that someone else actually likes the show “Life”! I love that show! But it seems to get no attention and no real promotion. Another show I love that seems to fly under the radar is “The Big Bang Theory”. Sure, the science talk isn’t always legit and there’s the occassional character reaction that doesn’t really make sense, but that show makes me do a spit take almost every show! What more can you ask of a comedy than to make you lol on a consistent basis?

Well…I could go on about TV all day, but someone riddle me this:

    – why is it, on Monday and Thursday, we’ve got these jam-packed schedules with so many fun shows to watch that I’m literally recording 2 shows at once solid from 5pm – 10pm (Pacific Time)? And thank goodness for timeshifting or else I wouldn’t be able to catch them all! But then the rest of the week, I’m lucky if there’s 1 or 2 shows a night worth tuning in to? Why not spread things around a little, huh?

    Anyone else have that problem?

    i love a podcast that mentions me….

yes, i like “pushing daisies”, so kitchy and i LOVE it when kristen chenowith breaks out in song… and really dina, with the word “daisies” in the title, you should be watching it….

here are some other shows i watch so you can discuss me in more podcasts…

“fringe” (don’t freak out tom, j.j. abrams could have a show where everyone peeled potatoes for an hour straight and i would watch it and love it)

“prison break” (less about the plot and more about wentworth miller and his tattoos….)

“chuck”- LOVE IT and can’t wait for my friend, tony hale, to come in midseason as buymore’s new manager. that will be GREAT!

“psych”- we all watch this one. those guys crack me up and i did hear that someone had copied the exact same crime solving technique in another show….

i will have to catch “life” on hula and see how that one is…. i have watched some episodes of “burn notice”. that is okay, not great.

“Life” certainly works best if you’ve seen it from the beginning, I think. Otherwise, I’d imagine anyone’s reaction would be, “what the heck’s with this guy?”. The main character is strange, but it’s all because of what happened to him earlier. I’m sad to see so much less of his “Zen” wisdom this season though. I loved that part of the show in Season 1 đŸ˜€

And it’s “The Mentalist” that totally 100% ripped off “Psych”. “The Mentalist” is less comedy, but it’s the exact same idea. I’ve watched the first two episodes, but I don’t think I’d even notice if it went off the air.
