The reason J doesn’t want to watch gymnastics is probably the same reason most guys don’t like to watch it. It makes us, at times, feel like pedophiles… Honestly, I’d just rather avoid it.

Tom, $10 says your Samsung-owning friend has already flipped that set back to Dynamic mode.

For anyone (interested) listening to this – the 6500K Tom is talking about is referring to the color temperature of the “color” White. The sun’s (day) light is around 6500K in terms of its color temperature while a typical florescent bulb is around 14,000K (very blue.) Incandescent lighting can be as low as 3200K. The higher the number, the more blue. The lower the color, the more red. A nice Black and White sepia movie should be displayed with a color temperature of around 5500K.

This also explains why so many people (like me) hate most of the new florescent bulbs. You’re going from a color temperature of under 4000K to well over 10,000K.

Just called a friend who works in JVille
They bugged out early before Fay hit. Hope everyone battens down the hatches and rides out the storm safely!

Has anyone heard the Pinnacle CS88 subs that Audioholics sells? I can’t find any reviews online! Tom..any info?

There was some very good imagery in this film during certain scenes, but I agree with your overall assessment–it was meh.

The thing I couldn’t stand was the flaming uncle of Jabba the Hut. What the heck was that?!! I recognized the voice (very distinctive) as being in some Disney-produced cartoons I watched as a kid, but that was just a weird choice.

Dave – Fay didn’t do us too bad but did keep me real busy for a few days. Haven’t heard that one yet.

Austin – I wouldn’t have touched the Jabba-Uncle thing with a ten foot pole. There was no way to broach the subject without it taking over the whole podcast. I agree, whoever thought that was a good idea should be beaten with a stick. The whole thing was just weird.

Hey, be glad you weren’t down here with me in Melbourne! We had over 30 inches of rain in about 48 hours. We had over 6 inches of rain fall in less than one hour.

Yeah, my wife’s aunt lives near the beach in Melbourne. They got hammered.
