AV Rant #197: Traitor

September 10th, 2010

Sorry about the late podcast – all will be explained within. Also, the complete video is available this week thanks to ooVoo not crashing. Tom’s almost moved in. A discussion about power. A class Tom wants to take. Netflix makes strides. Accessing the cloud – a good thing? Dina weighs in. Tom gives a big shout out to Clint for being the man. David and Michael get their questions answered. A plea to Cameron. For all of you that emailed Dina and then reported to Tom – she claims ignorance. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to vote for us at Podcast Alley! To see our (mostly) complete collection of show videos, click here. To get our iPhone app, visit the iTunes store.

That is an awesome place for the oovoo video to put a thumbnail image. There is some epic facepalming going on.

Any release dates on the Emotiva stuff? I’m actually looking at a XPA-2 and a XPA-5 but it sounds like this new amp could do both for me.

Holy crap the XPR-7 might be too much for me even with my planned upgrades to my speakers. 400W x 7 and a dedicated 20amp circuit is being recommended.

The logical said is saying no way dude… the av nerd is saying buy 2 of them.

So wait…hold on a tic! Dina is actually leaving the podcast?! Like…for good? Or is she just taking a break? What’s the deal?

You guys joke about it so much that I really can’t tell what the real situation is!

Dina, by all means take a little break if you need it, but you can’t leave the podcast for good! What the hey?!

Tom, I think you should google “RAID is not backup” and think about what cloud providers will be doing with your stuff. I think Dina’s approach – use the cloud as a backup – is a nice approach, only because I’ve had first-hand experience of some of the cloud providers and their particular brand of shonk. Dina – we are nothing without you 🙂

You step up and down volts, not watts!

    Dina, don’t leave =(
