AV Rant #182: Dina’s Porn Box

May 27th, 2010

New Comcast ads have Tom mad. Video on demand sucks. GoogleTV – Tom’s not sure what it is but it sounds cool. A bunch of answers to a bunch of questions. Are video games reducing crime? Tom likes to think so. Can you upgrade your video processor? What’s the deal with mid-bass subs? Should you get one? Analogue outputs on mid-fi receivers – quality? Sean fills Tom in on the BMW numbering thing. Everyone’s favorite speaker company to hate has a new product. What do you think Tom thinks? Ted is looking for some 3D glasses. Any chance you’ll be sending Dina back out to any HT stores to see what they try to sell her? I found those segements from “back in the day” quite interesting!

    @Ted

    not sure if Ted will read this comment, but, Ted, if you do, how would you feel about recording a podcast together with me? I have a couple of rants that I’d live to record, but it would just be weird to have me talking all by myself for many minutes on end :p

    This is “grammar Rob” by the way 😉

    If you’re interested (or any other listener for that matter) just shoot me a tweet @FirstReflect

    if you’re not on the Twitters, you can email me at FirstReflect@gmail

    Hope to hear from anyone who’s interested!

    @Rob, that is a really great idea! I will even compile the audio, edit out the bloopers, and ship it off to Tom, if you’d like. I have a couple of topics as well and would love to talk to you about them.

    I will email you so we can get it going…

    ArrghhhH!

    Are you freakin kidding me?! Pandora not available in Canada? First Hulu, now this. And I was really psyched to try this out after hearing about it on the podcast…

    With these arcane copyright shenanigans is it any wonder that people turn to “alternative” means to obtain content? I know. It’s no excuse. But cummon RIAA (or whomever’s responsible in this instance) get yer darn [expletive] out of yer [expletive]!!

    End Rant. And sorry – probably more relevant to last week’s episode.
