Dr: The black bars was in reference to standard definition programming in general not about American Idol. The HD version of AI is crazy clear. So clear you can see Paula's drugs wearing off as the episode runs.

Dina: Really? What is it about werewolf/vampire movies? I should make you watch An American Werewolf in London. Another classic that everyone should see at least once. And then there are the Dario Argento movies which were (and in a lot of ways still are) ground breaking... So many movies, so little time.

"NOTLD is pretty much a home movie with lots of fake blood. George Romero has lived off of this one for years."

I know. I saw it. And none of you need to try to assign me a vampire or werewolf movie. I will only refuse.

Hey guys! Things are coming together here with the show.

Tom, nothing wrong with rabbit ears! I stuck an A/B coax switch on the upstairs TV so we could have cable (sans box) and HDTV. A $16 (on eBay) Samsung amplified indoor antenna for the locals and I get spectacular HD. CBS and Fox, especially, as the local affiliates are not using those bandwidth-sucking Total News and Constant Weather secondaries like NBC and ABC are. Yuck! There oughta be a law against these.

This brings me to the American Idol reference. If you're seeing the black 4:3 bars on this season's episodes, somebody is doing something bad to your signal. It is beautiful 16:9 over the air, good enough to make me interested for the first time. Reruns are a different story.

dina, NOTLD is pretty much a home movie with lots of fake blood. George Romero has lived off of this one for years. I know there are fans but the whole zombie genre does not work for me. Vampires and werewolves are a completely different story. ;)

Oh, that reminds me, you've got homework. Watch Night of the Living Dead. Not a great surround sound movie, not a masterwork of special effects (at least not any more), but the yard stick by which all other zombie movies should be judged. And how have you gone through your whole life without seeing a Romero movie? That's wrong on just SO many levels.

This was a GREAT episode - you guys are really starting to work well together. And all without the "crutch:" of mentioning hairy backs or stroker technology!

Party on dudes...
